Gallery KH highlights the work of established and emerging artists working in a variety of media in the heart of the River North Gallery District. At 3,000 square-feet, Gallery KH offers clients and visitors a beautiful space in which to view the artwork of our more than two dozen gallery artists. The newly remodeled space features a private viewing area, Mid-Century Modern furnishings and classic loft details. Three street-facing windows enhance the airy ambiance of the space and create a dramatic presence for the gallery on Superior Street.

The classic loft architecture juxtaposed with modern finishes creates a special environment for viewing the work of our numerous gallery artists. OUR STAFF
Founded over 30 years ago by Mary Bell, Gallery KH continues in the spirit of Mary Bell Galleries, showing work by both accomplished and emerging artists from across the globe. Today, Lissa Kivisto and Kristen Hagan serve as co-directors of Gallery KH. Joined by Shannon Rather, these three charismatic women, with a combined experience of over 15 years, bring their individual knowledge and passion for the arts to the business, which is recognized for exquisite art and superb service.

LISSA KIVISTO
From Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lissa Kivisto graduated with a B.A. in Women’s Studies from the University of Kansas in 2005. Kivisto has been a resident of Chicago since 2006, and began her work at Mary Bell Galleries in January of that year. Most recently, Kivisto was certified at Sotheby’s Institute of Art-London in Contemporary Styles in Art and Art & Business. Her life long love for fine art has included experiences working with the interior design industry and private collectors. In her spare time, Lissa enjoys basketball, traveling, and spending time with her Miniature Golden-Doodle, Krymson.

KRISTEN HAGAN
Originally from Wilmington, Delaware, Kristen Hagan has lived in Chicago since 2004. Hagan earned degrees in Clothing and Textile Design from Virginia Tech and Art History from Indiana University. She graduated with a Master’s Degree from the University of Chicago in 2006, where she wrote cross-disciplinary thesis, examining the management practices in arts institutions. Hagan was the recipient of the prestigious Peggy Guggenheim Internship in 2001, and has extensive experience as a gallery sales associate and research assistant from her work at Habatat Galleries in Royal Oak, Michigan and the Art Institute of Chicago. Hagan has a long-term relationship with Mary Bell having worked at the gallery since 2006 before becoming business partners with Lissa Kivisto in 2008 and co-founding Gallery KH. Hagan enjoys yoga, fine wine, and gourmet cooking.

SHANNON RATHER
Shannon Rather earned degrees in Public Relations & Art History from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she also completed a Master’s Degree
in Art History and graduated with a Certificate in Museum Studies in 2004. Rather continued her studies of Renaissance Art in Florence, Italy and attended the Sotheby’s Institute of Art-London for certification in Contemporary Art. Prior to working at Gallery KH, Rather worked for Leslie Hindman Auctioneers in Chicago, Katie Gingrass Gallery in Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Art Museum. Rather donates her time as a member of the Medical Research Junior Board Foundation at Children’s Memorial Hospital and the Gateway Green Foundation. In her free time, Rather enjoys swimming, literature, and baseball season.
